jane austen, italians, pgh

i had this dream the other night that i was in the 1700's hanging out with jane austen, wearing brocade gowns and bonnets. we had booked a cruise to america on something that looked like noah's ark. the trip was going to take us one year to cross the atlantic. before we departed, we met up with her mother and she gave us visa gift cards and took us to the apple store to buy new laptops.

this is the second day in a row now that i have woken up with extreme vertigo. this morning i realised that it was only when i'd turn from my left side to my right....so i'm thinking it's probably an ear somethingorother.

other than this, pittsburgh seems to be a wonderful place. i live in a neighborhood that is pgh's "little italy". got here just in time for the community days where they had 4 or 5 blocks worth of booths, mostly selling food...really delicious authentic italian food.

pretty much everything is within walking distance which is great cause i am mildly terrified of getting lost.

the drive in seemed so long. the kitten cried the entire time. i couldn't see shit so i was driving really slow and large bridges came out of no where, just so i would have to cross them. i got flipped off and honked at by some truckers in scary west virginia too.
it's really neat driving into the city. you are surrounded by pretty much....well, nature. until you get to the tunnel.
the tunnel

then you drive for a minute or two through mount washington...and viola! le pittsburgh!

and viola! the scariest bridge ever. sorry kids, i can never leave the city again because i refuse to ever go near this beast again.
